The cost to attend the Hoosier Boys State program is 300 dollars per delegate. However, delegates nor their parents have to pay this cost. Funding to attend is provided through local sponsorships. This is also why it is important to communicate with the district chairman regarding attendance as the money is committed whether the delegate attends or not.

The primary sponsor is the American Legion. Other sponsors include:

  • Many Veteran’s Organizations
  • Schools
  • Private practices / businesses
  • Civic groups (Lions, Elks, Eagles, Moose, Optimist, Kiwanis, etc.)

To get more details about sponsorship, visit your local American Legion Post.

You can also contact your district enrollment chairman. They are responsible for organizing various local American Legion posts, taking applications, and allocating funding for potential delegates to the Hoosier Boys State Program. This is a daunting task that they voluntarily do. So be sure to thank them for their hard work!
