2010 Elections
Jeremy Washington is now the Governor of the 51st State. Governor Washington attends Hammond High School, and he was sponsored by Post 168 in District 1. Governor Washington will receive the John McKeeman Memorial Scholarship ($500) and the Bud Carson Leader's Scholarship ($1000) scholarships. Congratulations Governor!
Ryan Byers was elected as Lt. Governor. Lt. Governor Byers attends Michigan City High School. He was sponsored by Post 37 out of District 3. Lt. Governor Byers was also selected as the B.W. Breedlove Outstanding Citizen Award to be a delegate to Boys' Nation. He will receive the Col. Frank R. Kossa Scholarship $3,625.
Hoosier Boys' State Secretary of State is now Christopher Lee from North Judson-San Pierre High School. Secretary Lee was sponsored by Post 92 in District 2.
The Hoosier Boys' State Treasurer will be Casey Nelson from Jasper High School in District 8. He was sponsored by Post 147.
Steven Chen was elected to the office of State Auditor. He is a student at Carmel High School in the 6th District. Post 155 sponsored him.
Ryan Mughmaw from Oak Hill High School was elected the Attorney General. He is in District 5.
Dile Wilson will be the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Superintendent Wilson is from Mt. Vernon High School and was sponsored by Post 5 in District 8.
Also from District 8 is Daniel Paige, elected to be the Speaker of the House. Speaker Paige was sponsored by Post 44. He attends Castle High School.
Other Awards and Scholarships
Patrick Samuels was also selected to go to Boys' Nation. Patrick is from Sheridan High School in District 6. He was sponsored by Post 67.
Cody Land, Nathaniel Lee, and Russell Smith were awarded the Frank M. McHale Scholarship in the amount of $1,400 each. Cody attends Lawrenceburg High School in District 9. Nathaniel attends Bedford North Lawrence High School in District 9 and was sponsored by Post 33. Russell goes to North Harrison High School in District 8. He was sponsored by Post 332.
This year, the Indiana candidate for the Samsung Scholarship Award is Evan Miller. He will receive $1,000, and his credentials will be evaluated in the national award pool of candidates. Evan is a student at Tri Central High School in District 5. He is sponsored by Post 483 and SAL 46
