The 2008 General Election Final Count resulted in the following statistics:

STATE OFFICIALS

Ian Duncan, a Nationalist, was elected Governor of Hoosier Boys' State.  Governor Duncan was sponsored by Bob Lee in the 9th District.  He attends Bedford North Lawrence High School.

Joe Rust, also a Natinoalist, was elected Lieutenant Governor.  Joe comes from Seymour High School.  He was sponsored by Post 89 in the 9th District.

Danny Michael, a Federalist, is now the new Secretary of State.

Vince Hofmeister is also a Federalist.  He has been elected the State Treasurer.

Alex Sabol, a Federalist, was elected to the high office of State Auditor.

Aaron Mercer, Federalist, from Roosevelt High School in Gary, is Hoosier Boys' State's new Attorney General.  Aaron will be attending Boys' Nation this summer.  He was sponsored by PDC in the 1st District.

Zach Sherwood, another Federalist, is now the HBS Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Runners up in the above election results were as follows: Stephen Guetig for Governor; Nick Scheidler ran for Lieutenant Governor; Alex Johnson worked for the win in the Secretary of State competition; and Stevan Tomich II pursued the office of Treasurer of the State.  Thaddeus White made the roster in the Auditor's race as did Thomas Beaver in the race for the Attorney General's Office.  Levi Seymour ran for Superintendent of Public Instruction.

These races were all hard run and hard won.  Many candidates fell short of their hoped for posts.  But there can be only one.  The men who won and the men who became runners up should all be proud of their relative achievements ... they participated in a very competitive process--and they did it from precinct to office.  They are thus all winners at Hoosier Boys' State.
