The 2009 General Election Final Count resulted in the following statistics:

STATE OFFICIALS

             

Seth Brown was elected Governor of Hoosier Boys' State.  Governor Brown was sponsored by Post 168 in the 1st District.  He attends Hammond High School.

Chris Reilly was elected Lieutenant Governor.  Chris comes from Bellmont High School.  He was sponsored by the Ladies Auxillary 43 in the 4th District.

Matt Moyer is now the new Secretary of StateMatt attends Fishers High School in the 6th District.

Jose'  Mitiavila has been elected the State TreasurerSponsored by Post 46 in the 5th District, Jose' attends Tipton High School.

Nick Miller was elected to the high office of State Auditor.  Nick was sponsored by Post 70 in the 10th District and attends Triton Central High School.

William Craig, from Castle High School, is Hoosier Boys' State's new Attorney General.  He was sponsored by Post 44 in the 8th District.

Will Staal is now the HBS Superintendent of Public Instruction.  Will attends North Central High School and was sponsored by Post 34 in District 11.

Evan Kolb is the new Speaker of the HouseEvan attends Boonville High School.  He was sponsored by the FOP of Boonville.

Ed Linczer of Trinity School at Greenlawn, was announced as the Barney Breedlove Outstanding Citizen for 2009.  Ed will receive the Kossa Scholarship of $3,625.  Ed was sponsored by Post 357.  Additionally, Ed advances to represent Hoosier Boys's State in Boys' Nation along with Ben Jones, sponsored by Day & Carter Mortuary.  Ben is from Bedford North Lawrence High School.

Evan Hale from Cicero Post 341, Hamilton Heights High School, will receive $900; Abishek Chintapalli from Ft. Wayne Post 330, Homestead High School, will receive $900; and Levi McAnulty from Ladoga, Post 427, Southmont High School will receive $900--all three will be co-recipients of the McHale Scholarships.

The Indiana recipient of the stage one Samsung Scholarship will be Matthew Smith from Crown Point High School, and his application will be submitted to the National Samsung competition for a $20,000.00 scholarship.  Matthew was sponsored by American Legion Post 20.  The status of that competition will be made available in the near future.
