2017: One scholarship worth $3,000; the runner-up receives $625
Col. Frank R. Kossa served in not only four major wars during the 20th Century (WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam) but also as the Department Commander of the Indiana American Legion, 1934-1935. Recognizing the importance of Hooiser Boys State and education, Col. Kossa presented a sum of money to The American Legion for financial assistance to a delegate selected by the Hoosier Boys’ State Staff. This scholarship is presented to the winner of the B.W. Breedlove Outstanding Citizen Award.
